This fame has inspired many brands which use similar designs that are roughly based on older Ricardo engine designs. these brands are commonly known in The Chinese market as Ricardo, Copy Ricardo, or “Brand Name” Ricardo. The most popular of these are Huafeng Ricardo, Kofo Ricardo, and TianHe Ricardo. Huafeng Ricardo was purchased by Weichai and will cease production of Huafeng Ricardo engines by The end of 2020. Kofo Ricardo and TianHe Ricardo will continue production for The foreseeable future.
